Medico Legal Experience
Since being appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Nottingham in 1995, I have completed over 500 medical reports. . I have provided reports in medical negligence and personal injury cases on behalf of both claimants and defendants, in cases covering leg ulcers, poor blood supply to the limbs, pressure ulcers, stroke, aneurysms, complications of vascular surgery, deep venous thrombosis and other conditions. The majority have been on behalf of claimants seeking redress for hand arm vibration syndrome (vibration white finger). My reports have been independently validated by both sides against objective testing and as a result it has been agreed by IRISC and the Union of Democratic Mineworkers that I should act as single joint expert in the event of unresolved disputes. I have attended a course on medico-legal report writing and on giving evidence in Court. I am aware of my overriding duty as an expert to help the court on matters within my expertise. Sample reports are available on request.
