Ingrid J Collins is a Consultant Educational Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist, a Registered Spiritual Healer, a Chartered Scientist and an Accredited Consultant of the Feng Shui Society (also an Executive Committee member), an Affiliate Member of the Association of Educational Psychologists, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a Member of the Doctor-Healer Network, the World Federation for Mental Health, the Scientific and Medical Network, the Association of Business Psychologists and is the Chairwoman of the Soul Therapy Association of Spiritual Healers, a nationally accredited healing organisation recognised by the Alliance of Healing Associations and awarded the Stage 4 (highest level) Accreditation by UK Healers.
An Associate Member of the Parliamentary Group for Integrated and Complementary Healthcare and a biographee in the International Who’s Who in Medicine, Mrs Collins is the Co-Director of The Soul Therapy Centre (a training clinic for therapists and healers and a Corporate Member of the British Holistic Medical Association), with private consulting rooms in the London Medical Centre in Harley Street. She has designed and delivered courses on Children With Special Educational Needs for the University of North London and set up the Educational Management Unit for the Kensington Consultation Centre, a training clinic for systemic psychotherapists and management consultants. She consults to companies and supports staff groups through significant times of stress or change.
Mrs Collins graduated with an Honours Degree in Psychology from Manchester University in 1965, gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology from The London Child Guidance Training Centre at The Tavistock Institute for Human Relations in 1972, developed her skills in systemic psychotherapy at The Kensington Consultation Centre over many years studying with Peter Lang and his team, and then notably Gianfranco Cecchin and Luigi Boscolo of the Milan School of Family Therapy. She holds a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Training awarded by The Centre For Stress Management in 2006.
Having established a reputation for unbiased assessments, Mrs Collins is often consulted as an expert witness by the legal profession for medico-legal opinions and reports to Court, drawing on over forty years’ professional experience.
She has built her successful private practice by clients’ word of mouth by helping individuals, couples, families and organisations to a deeper awareness of others and of their own emotional dynamics and spirituality in order to enrich the quality of their psychological wellbeing, their physical health, and their personal and working relationships. A Happiness Teacher, trained by Robert Holden and Dr Patch Adams, she has also trained with Dr Bernie Siegel, the celebrated oncologist, pioneer of mind/body medicine and founder of ECaP (Exceptional Cancer Patients) Groups, Amelia Kinkade, the leading American psychic and author celebrated for her animal communication work, and US Major Paul H Smith, author of "The Most Secret Agent" and "Reading the Enemy's Mind ?- Inside Star Gate, America's Psychic Espionage Program", who trained the CIA's psychic spies in the technique of Remote Viewing. Recently, Ingrid has successfully added a state-of-the-art bioresonance system to her range of treatments.
A Contributing Editor and spiritual healing consultant on the Advisory Board of “Here’s Health” Magazine for whom she wrote a regular page, and a member of the BPS Media Panel, she has won several prizes for her poetry and prose writing and is a popular, prolific writer and broadcaster on both radio and TV on a wide spectrum of psychology, spiritual healing, Feng Shui, integrated and complementary healthcare issues, and is quoted extensively in the media. Ingrid is a Member Of The XL Circle, created by Roger Hamilton for people with "eXtraordinary Lives" who do business with integrity and give a percentage of their profits to charity.
Ingrid has presented several conference papers, seminars and workshops at The World Federation of Mental Health, The British Psychological Society, The Feng Shui Society, The Royal Society of Medicine, The Brightlife Trust, and The Scientific and Medical Network.
She has worked with the comedian Tim Vine on his one man show at the Edinburgh Festival, and with Tate Modern on their audio presentation for their permanent exhibition of the art of Cindy Sherman. Her work has been featured in the Living TV documentary about Harley Street consultants and also on on prime time BBC2’s observational documentary series: “Private Life of Harley Street” to which there was an enthusiastic response. Her favourite broadcast was for the celebrated veteran BBC producer of classic comedy programmes, Ian Guardhouse, in which she featured along with Morecambe & Wise, The Goons, George Melly & Stanley Unwin on Stephen Fry’s “The Joy Of Gibberish” on BBC Radio 4.
Her book, “A Year Of Spirituality”, ISBN 1-84072-331-9, published in 2003 by MQP in the UK and Andrews McMeel in the USA, received glowing endorsements from Dr Bernie Siegel and Amelia Kinkade. Her poetry anthology, "Eternal Sparrow," ISBN 978-1-60860-535-4, was published in New York, USA by Strategic Book Publishing, 2009. She has been invited by Amelia Kinkade to write a chapter in her next book and she is also commissioned to write a feature film script on a spiritual topic. She has recently been invited by Peggy O'Hare, the UK organiser of The Alliance For The New Humanity, to share a platform with the celebrated Dr Deepak Chopra.
