Medico Legal Experience

Over the past 18 years I have developed a practice that specialises in reviewing medical records and comparing them with statements from patients who allege that they have been victims of GP clinical negligence. I am also retained by the NHS Litigation Authority to give opinions on claims against hospital Trusts that may also involve contributory GP clinical negligence. From the documentary evidence I then produce a detailed independent report giving an opinion on the merits of the case. I am experienced in attending conferences with Counsel and have testified in Court. In addition I have prepared reports on behalf of and appeared as an expert witness before the Fitness to Practice Panel of the General Medical Council. My expertise has been recognised by my inclusion in the Expert Witness Directory, the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and the Law Society of Scotland’s Directory of Expert Witnesses. I am an elected member of the Expert Witness Institute and I am on the AvMA and APIL approved GP expert witness lists. I prepare about 150 reports each year. 80% of my work is on behalf of Claimants and 20% for Defendants.
