Medico Legal Experience

I prepare medicolegal reports at the request of independent solicitors, the NHS Litigation Authority, and the medical defence societies.

My aim is to complete reports within 2-3 months or receiving all documentation. I take on only those cases pertinent to my particular specialty in paediatric respiratory medicine.

I have provided reports on a variety of situations, including –
  • Delay in diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, tuberculosis, empyema, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, foreign body inhalation, immunodeficiency, chest tumours
  • Delay in treatment of asthma, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, sepsis, obliterative bronchiolitis, primary ciliary dyskinesia 
  • Neonatal respiratory complications – respiratory distress syndrome, pneumothorax, bronchopulmonary dysplasia
  • Cross infection in cystic fibrosis
  • Adverse drug reactions in cystic fibrosis
  • Respiratory complication of spinal cord injury
  • Respiratory complications of tracheo-oesophageal repair
  • Inhalation of a tooth during dental procedure
  • Effects of stab wound to chest
  • Role of home conditions (damp etc.) in asthma
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning in a home
  • Contamination of piped oxygen in a hospital
