Medico Legal Experience

Mr Teo graduated from Aberdeen University in 1982. After gaining his general surgical diploma from the Edinburgh Royal College of Surgeons in 1987 he was awarded a Harvard Research Fellowship and spent a year in Boston, USA, studying the role of lipid in nutritional support of major burns and sepsis. His MD thesis, based on this work, was awarded with honours together with the Cash Medal in 1991. His plastic surgery experience was gained in Aberdeen, Bradford, Slough and latterly at St Thomas' Hospital, London and The Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead where he was Senior Registrar. After gaining the specialist FRCS (Plastic Surgery) in 1995 and completing the training programme he spent a year abroad on clinical fellowships in Nepal, Taiwan and Australia. He was appointed locum consultant at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead in 1998 and a full time consultant in 1999. Sub-specialty interests in (a) hand surgery, and (b) microsurgery (which has a wide application in cancer and trauma reconstruction). He also has a particular interest in acute and secondary reconstruction in upper and lower limb trauma.
