Medico Legal Experience

I have a large medico-legal practice. I have been doing medico-legal work since 2003, and this has now increased to the level where I am asked to see about 250 to 300 patients per month, and I see currently between 3,500 to 4,000 patients per year. I was a Reader in Cardiovascular Medicine and Physiology in Bristol Medical School for 15 years (1986 to 2001), and during this time I was also the leader of a large and very active and successful Heart Research Group. Indeed, my Heart Research Group carried out a great deal of pioneering research on the cellular mechanisms of cardiac muscle, and we also made a number of significant discoveries about heart muscle contraction mechanisms, and also about the actions of various drugs on the heart. I also have a great deal of clinical experience and knowledge of treating patients with Cardiovascular Disease, and also General Medical problems. After 2001, I became a Senior European Physician in an International Pharmaceutical Company (ICN Pharmaceuticals Ltd). Then for 2 years I was the Director of Cardiovascular Programs at an International Clinical Trials Company (called: Phase One Clinical Trials). Some of the medico-legal cases I am asked to see, require specialist and research cardiovascular knowledge, and because of my extensive research and clinical background, I am able to deal with these (usually complex) cases. Since 2006, I have carried out mainly Clinical work, dealing with Cardiovascular and a wide range of General Medical problems. I also carry out many medico-legal reports for patients involved in public and private liability accidents; and also for patients involved in accidents at work and also road traffic accidents. I also have an extensive experience of soft tissue and trauma injury, neck and spinal injury, effect of loss of function on ability to work and the various social consequences, and also of post-traumatic mental health problems. I see patients in Consulting Rooms located over the Midlands, Yorkshire, South West / South Wales and North West / North Wales regions. I also see many patients each year for medical negligence cases, and it is normal for these cases that a very comprehensive report is required, together with a detailed review of the medical notes.
